Episode 11 – Mantenna and Other Stuff

We are back!  Things get crack-a-lackin’ (did I seriously just type that?) this month with a new set (?), a couple of new MOTUC releases, some random talk about SDCC exclusives and the Avengers movie, and then we finally round it out with some vintage Mantenna discussion.

Remember to subscribe if you like what we do and we’ll try to put these out on a more consistent basis.

Sure, we will.  ;)

Good Journey(s).

Just What I Needed

I work a difficult job.  I work in a dangerous place surrounded by dangerous people for twelve hours at a time during the graveyard shift.  It’s not fun, but it’s usually very interesting.

Tonight was an especially rough night.  I had only been able to sleep about three and a half hours the morning before and we were short-handed because of a few sick calls.  Even with some overtime people filling in, we didn’t have enough bodies to cover all of the positions.  We just had to make due.

About 0100 hours I began to get the first indications of a migraine.  My vision was blurry in spots so I had difficulty seeing my computer monitors or concentrating on my duties.  Around 0230 the pain set in.  Tonight, for some reason, it seemed extra excruciating.  I did the best I could but I would have rather been anywhere else than where I presently found myself.

Eventually, somehow, the pain decreased to a dull throbbing and I made it through my shift but I was spent.  I really don’t know how I made it home.  Even as I write this now I am having difficulty keeping my eyes open but I feel what happened when I returned home is worth losing a few precious of moments of sleep to share with all of you.

As I stumbled out of my car and into the front door I was greeted with a marvelous scene which I will never forget.  My young children, whom are rarely awake at such an early hour, were all huddled on the couch together, snuggled in their footy-pajamas and Batman bedspreads.  They were watching Masters of the Universe.  The classic Filmation, not that MYP stuff.  My mind was transported back to 1985 when I remembered my sisters and I doing the exact same thing and my father, perhaps, finding the same scene as he returned home from work in the afternoon.

And then, from the soft glow of the television I heard this:

I was seven years old again and all of my pain was gone.  I had no cares nor wants and I knew that He-Man was going to fix everything.

I was happy.

Thank you, Masters of the Universe, for giving me the knowledge that the ability to accomplish anything in life is already within me.  Thank you for teaching me that despite what faces me in opposition I can overcome it (sometimes with a little help from my friends).  Thank you for giving me the memories of a childhood enriched with feelings that I can rely on now to bolster myself in tough times.

Thank you for giving me The Power.

Episode 5 – Mini-Comics and Grizzlor

Greetings, friends.

Episode 5 is live. I explore the mysterious remains of my mini-comic collection, delve into my thoughts on Grizzlor’s two versions, and wax ridiculous over this new Mattel nonsense. PS – Trying to be brief results in one of my longest videos yet. It’s so long, my battery goes dead. Oh, well. Give it a gander if you’ve got the time.

Good Journey.

Episode 4 – Tung Lashor, Mekaneck, and Stinkor

Greetings, friends!  In this episode I get a little loose and fast in my figure choices, which resulted in me not reminiscing about just one figure…..but three!  Tung Lashor, Mekaneck, and Stinkor are all treated to the machinations of my memory and come out (mostly) unscathed.  I hope you enjoy it.  Let me know what you think.
